It’s rare to find a wholesome movie that you can take your family to see. This movie has good old-fashioned and campy-corny humor. The story is about a family that goes to church family camp because the mom twists her husband’s arm. She feels like he never is present, but too involved with his job and playing golf. When they arrive at camp, the husband has forgotten to make the reservation payment, so their only choice is to stay in a yurt with another family. The husband is not interested in the spiritual aspect of the camp, but they try to fit in with the other family who appear to be over-the-top perfect Christians. Both families are very competitive to show that they’re the best family and win the camp trophy. They all participate in many hilarious games and competitions, but then they go hiking in the forest. The two competing dads get lost and everyone worries and rescue teams are deployed. While they’re lost, there is much soul-searching. After lots of hunger, danger, and even Bigfoot….what will happen to these dads? What will be revealed and who will have a change of heart? This is a funny but meaningful film that I enjoyed. It teaches great lessons while being light-hearted.
