When the paycheck stops coming, you must rely on Social Security and your retirement funds or pension. No one wants to run out of money and there are many things to consider, including the high cost of Medicare and the supplemental policies to cover your health care. A financial planner will be able to discuss with you all the things to consider before you retire. Take the time and spend the money for a good financial planner. Interview the top candidates and make sure that they aren’t working for commissions on stock sales. As a long-term investor, you’ll want a planner that only makes money when you make money. Take the time to read and learn all you can about retirement before you actually give your notice at work.
