My Review

Movies that are centered on addiction are not usually my cup of tea, but this movie is different. The emotional journey that Jess takes is one that takes the viewer and puts them on the edge of their seat.

Jess is reaching the bottom of her life. Her family doesn’t want her around and rehab doesn’t seem to be working. She meets an old man who sits in his yard looking for people who need prayer. He’s nearing the end of his life and has asked God to save one more.

He wants to personally be involved with changing another life for Christ. Jess doesn’t really believe in God or Jesus, but really wants help with her addiction. The two teens who are there often, befriend Jess and try to help her. She isn’t truthful with herself and those who want to lead her to a relationship with Jesus.

The movie is recommended for ages 13+ (or14). Although the movie deals with addiction, it is presented in a way that isn’t objectionable. Jess has outbursts and her experiences on drugs creates settings that aren’t good for young children.

I love that this movie showcases those around Jess who befriend her, support her, and forgive her. When they don’t give up, she is finally convicted of her sin, and follows Christ.
