We are a young family still making our own traditions, but this year we counting down with the names of Jesus and a paper Christmas tree that we put an ornament on every day until Christmas 🎄
That’s a great idea. It’s important to keep Him first 🙂
We put the tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving. We drive around looking at Christmas lights, do our Christmas shopping. The night before Christmas we go to my brother’s house to open presents (may be virtual this year), and go to church service (also probably virtual). Then on Christmas day, open presents and make Christmas dinner. Thanks for hosting these awesome giveaways! Have a Merry Christmas!

Hi have Happy Holidays. Every Christmas Eve we all get new Pj’s watch movies all day bake for Santa and at the end of the evening we all get to open 1 gift we have such a blast.
We love the Christmas PJ’s, too!
One of our best countdown to Christmas traditions is watching The Christmas Story movie. It is timelessly funny!

We wont be going to my aunts this year or to my eldest brother like normal. But every year till this year we would celebrate Christmas for 3 days! One day at my brothers then the next at my aunts and Christmas day at home when Santa leaves his presents! I will miss this and them so much this year 🙁

We watch Christmas movies! We also love to do various Christmas activities! Make a gingerbread house, make family ornaments, exc. I hope everyone has a merry Christmas!!

My son is grown so we really do not have any family traditions anymore.
When my daughter was little we had a sucker count down to Christmas treet hanging she used.
My family hosts a cookie exchange with family and friends where we all bake and exchange different types of Christmas cookies. We also have an advent calendar!
My grand-children love the Advent Christmas Tree calendar we put up with envelopes for each day of December to fill with surprises!
we start with putting the tree up, the day of Thanksgiving then we start decorating the yard, we also like to decorate cookies and ginger bread houses
We don’t really do a countdown to Christmas tradition. I mean we definitely make cookies, wrap presents, and watch Christmas movies, but we don’t set any specific time by it.

We use an advent calendar.
The kids and I make personal Christmas Cards. This year is so different because we wont be able to see our family like most family’s.
Our family puts up our Christmas tree with the ornaments the day after Thanksgiving, decorate the house with our nativity and nutcrackers, and our beloved collection of Santa Clause. My son also decorates his room with a tree and all sorts of decorations he has made. We also like to read a bible verse and discuss the Christmas story. Driving around lookin at lights is also a highlight.
We have several countdown calendars to change each day, plus the chocolate advent calendars. I always have a myriad of ideas, but seldom actually get them done…. LOL
Advent calendars are our favorite countdown to Christmas tradition.
When the kids were younger, it was using the advent calendar.
We usually do some type of advent or countdown each day! When my oldest was really little, we did a paper chain and took a link off each day. Then, we did a book a day for 24 days, but after a few years we had so many books and I couldn’t remember what we already had. (Plus, that was expensive.) This year, we did Lego and Thomas the train advent calendars. The kids love them!
I think taking a walk at the park and seeing the lights is really the beginning of being festive for me.

Our favorite countdown to Christmas traditions would be watching freeforms 25 days of christmas, elf on the shelf, and advent calendars are also fun.
This is so awesome- what a great season! Well, to be honest, I am grown now and I lost my precious Nana back in 2016. We used to have a good bit of traditions, but now I don’t really have a countdown tradition with myself.
It’s so hard when our elders are gone and the traditions seem to stop. Maybe you can create some of your own traditions 🙂
We love driving around looking at the Christmas lights while drinking hot chocolate.

We have a yearly tradition of baking sugar cookies with all the cousins. My kids, my cousins, my aunts and uncles, etc. Well, I bake. Then we all decorate. Then we have a big family Christmas party.
Advent calendar when I was a kid we used to do links of construction paper then pull one off each day.
We do a countdown with advent cards with the names of Jesus! Everyday we make a craft that represents the name of Jesus too. My kids look forward to our daily reading and craft!
Those are wonderful activities. Keeping Jesus first is great 🙂
