After viewing the new movie Paul’s Promise, I can eagerly recommend that you all go and see this wonderful movie. This movie is a Christian movie based on a true story from the 1960’s. I was born in the early 60’s and remember the early days of integration in Mississippi. My Christian parents encouraged their children to be friends to all the children, no matter the color of their skin.

This movie is about a family’s struggle with generational alcoholism and fathers who weren’t there for their children. Paul has terrible memories of his dad and so he’s angry and refuses to come to Jesus. But, he has a sincere mama who prays for him every day. When she finds out that she has just a few days to live, because of cancer, her only concern is for Paul to be saved.

She makes him promise to read her prayers at church on Sunday at the alter. As she’s about to die in her sleep, he realizes it’s too late to go to church, and he invites everyone over. I believe you will all love this movie and especially the end. They even sing my very favorite hymn!
