Honeycake is the nickname for a sweet little girl named Nala who lives with her loving family. Her two uncles came to take her to a very special day where she would meet some heroic children who were making a great difference in the lives of others with disabilities.
Her uncles came to get her and bragged on their sweet niece. They asked her if she would like to visit the event hall where the program would soon start. She was anxious to meet the other children and quickly said, “yes”! Honeycake didn’t live with a disability but was always friendly and welcoming to those who had a disability in their life.
She was introduced to bright red hair and freckles. This girl had a congenital disability in which part of her arm didn’t finish developing. She and Alexis talked about her arm and they were very open and transparent. Of course, Nala was accepting of her. Next they met Jake and Traci who both led an exciting and fulfilling life even though they had a phyiscal disability. It didn’t stop them from having fun and being successful.
Alexi won an award for being such an inspiring fundraiser to help other kids. After a day like this Honeycake was impressed to start her own club to do great things for others. What a great book that will make us all think about where we fit in on our life’s journey to help those around us.
