Graduation is the end of my home-school journey. My youngest child graduated last night. We’re so proud of him!
We had a wonderful celebration with close friends and families that care about him. It was an evening to remember, and he loved it. Hubby and I spoke briefly and then presented his diploma. This was followed by a lot of eating and fellowship.
We had a fun slide-show and the kids had a game room, complete with Photo-booth. They were laughing for hours and everyone enjoyed themselves.
Though we chose to home educate, our kids have always had friends of every type. He had friends present from public school, private school, and home school. We like him to be well-rounded and ready to step into the real world, not shocked when he gets to college.
Our church family has a mix of those families, and I like to fellowship with everyone, too.
Graduation, as we all know is not the end, it’s just a beginning. I’m excited to see where my son goes from here. I trust that God will lead him exactly where he needs to be.
Don’t worry about homeschooling through high school, but you do need to prepare. I did a lot of research and planning before my children reached high school, to decide how we would proceed.
Here are some good websites and resources that I used:
Well Trained Mind The early edition is what I used to make sure I covered everything.
Whatever path you take, be prepared, pray and then celebrate! Be thankful for God’s blessings.
For You are my rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name’s sake, Lead me and guide me.
