Spring is such a glorious time! With the longer days, warmer sunshine, and beautiful bird songs, we are all susceptible to Spring Fever. Although some of us may need to keep our sweaters handy, there are warm temperatures in much of the country. What do you love to do to celebrate Spring?

Celebrate Spring Indoors
Spring means new. New growth: grass, flowers, and blossoming trees. We feel new inside and often want to wear new clothes and refresh our homes. We might take down heavy drapes and replace them with sheer panels. Using lighter colors in our bedding and accessories can bring a feeling of lightness and newness to our surroundings. When it’s warm it’s wonderful to open our windows and let in the breezes of March and April. I love to replace my heavy-scented candles with a lighter scent, such as linen, cherry blossom, or lemon.
My home decor can be influenced by the weather and season. I love to put heavy quilts and blankets in storage and choose to pull out lighter colors and fabrics. I also love to add more plants indoors and out. House plants, potted flowers, and cut flowers make me feel happier than anything else I can do. I started ordering cut flowers recently to make my home as cheerful as possible. Where is your favorite place to order flowers? My niece lives in New York and says that PlantShed has the best flowers in NYC. Their arrangements are gorgeous! I can’t wait to add potted geraniums on my porch. I’ve always been partial to red geraniums. They bring so much cheer to the front of the home.

Celebrate Spring Outside
Another favorite way to celebrate Spring is to take your meals out-of-doors. Do you have a patio, porch, or deck? With winter ended, do a little spring cleaning and get your outdoor area ready for meals. Spruce up the area with an outdoor rug and some potted plants. Dress up your table with some cute placemats. Plan a fun meal that your family will love. Order your groceries by delivery to save time. If you have a grill, it’s a great time to grill your favorite meat or fish. If you add a few sides the family will love this and want to eat out often.
Celebrate Spring Deliciously
Celebrating Spring can’t be complete without a new recipe or menu. We all have our favorite spring-time and Easter dishes. But, it’s so much fun to try a new recipe. Are you a baker? Or do you prefer cooking vegan, Southern, or soul food? Grab a new cookbook from your local bookstore or browse online to find something that looks delicious. Another adventurous thing to do is to create a charcuterie board. There are so many options to try!
It’s so much fun to try a new recipe and, it’s also a great idea to try a new cooking method. Did you get a new appliance this year? You could work on mastering it. Try something new that helps you to save time. Use that extra time to spend outdoors in the beautiful weather. Whether you live in New York, San Diego, or Dallas, you’ll enjoy celebrating Spring in your own unique way.
