Care Solutions

When you are a parent it can almost seem impossible to be everywhere at once. You have to be at work but you also have children to fetch from school. How is this going to work out? Well, there are plenty of care solutions if they fit into your budget. You have before and after care which will usually run from a school or someone’s home. They provide a health, nutritious breakfast and after school snack for your child. Make sure you only look into ones that are registered or have references. You want to know that your child will be safe at all times. Other care solutions include a nanny, this is someone who comes to your home to watch your child.

Weekend Outings

Balancing home and work life when you have children is all about making the most of the time you have together. Make memories with your children on the weekends or during school holidays if you have taken time off. You can venture off to many different places on the weekends with your children. How about the park, zoo, or even a road trip? You could all sit down together and create a jar of adventures. This is a jar filled with post-it notes with ideas on, someone picks out a ticket and that is what you are going to do.

Productivty Planners

If you are trying to get evetything done in a short space of time you have available then it may help you to use a productivity planner. This will keep you focused and on track to where you need to be. You can set yourself goals on your planner, however, bear in mind these should be realistic. When creating goals for yourself, you could use the SMART acronym. This stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely. Don’t set yourself targets that you can’t meet as this just causes negative feelings. Take a look around for the best planners that will help you keep your life and tasks on track.

Work From Home

Finally, you might want to consider working from home as a parent. This is a great way to ensure that you get a far better work/life balance. During the pandemic, a lot of people were forced to work from home as it was the only option to keep businesses functioning. Now, researchers claim that this type of setup does provide significant health and wellbeing benefits. It will also ensure that you are there at crucial times like when your kids get out of school and give you a more flexible schedule. At the very least, you should explore a hybrid work model where you work from home for a couple of days each year.

We hope this helps you understand the best ways to balance your work and family life as a busy parent.

This is great advice, thank you so much for sharing! So many of us often forget to take care of ourselves when we are so busy! It is so important to take time off and just enjoy yourself with your family. So often I get burned out and I know that if I would just take a break, I would feel so much better.

Great tips, Lisa, this is what I did for awhile when my children were growing up
