Tips For Bringing Home Baby

Disclosure: Sponsored information with affiliate link. The First 24-Hours at Home with Your Newborn For 9 months you’ve been waiting for the day you get to meet the new little addition to your family. And, up to now, caring for your baby has been fairly easy — take it easy, eat healthy, and take your prenatal vitamins, but it’s all about to change. While there’s a lot of information out there to prepare new parents for everything from what to pack in your hospital bag to labor, the first 24 hours at home could feel like you didn’t just read every parenting book available. Sure, everyone knows a newborn is pretty consistent with their eat-sleep-poop routine, but it can still be challenging when you’ve finally arrived home with your bundle of joy. Here’s what you can expect in your first 24 hrs at home with your baby. While newborns sleep about 75% of the time, your newborn hasn’t developed their circadian rhythm yet, so frequent wakeups are common. The usual culprits to these periodic wakeups are hunger or a dirty diaper, but at midnight, the key is to fix the problem without disrupting the baby too much. When babies are first born, they are easily overstimulated by sound and light because they are just growing accustomed to being outside the womb. So, if you can fix the WHY behind their wake-up quietly and with just a nightlight, the chances of your little one, and you, quickly dipping back into deep sleep are much higher. Another thing to think about is what to dress your baby in at night. One way to start helping your baby distinguish between day and night when you first bring them home is clothing. When the sun sets on your new baby’s first day home, get them ready for sweeter sleep with gently weighted Zen Sleepwear. The Nested Bean Grow With Me Bundle is the perfect way to aid your baby’s sleep from their first night at home through 6 months of age. Now, as your baby sleeps, every new parent is on high alert and checking if their baby has stopped breathing. This worry can be heightened due to something called periodic breathing, periods of pause between breaths that last up to 10 seconds. While nerve-wracking, this is completely normal and can actually be a sign that your baby is in deep sleep. Some signs to look out for can be a pause in breathing that lasts 15 seconds or more or irregularly fast breathing. As always, if you have any questions ask your doctor, but these are the general rules of thumb to keep in mind during baby’s first night home to keep your mind at ease. But what about during the day while your baby is awake? All the new sights, sounds, and smells throughout the day can distract your newborn from their much-needed rest. This overstimulation can cause them to lose sleep and then doze off when they should be eating. Proper nourishment, especially during this stage, is integral for development, so make sure to give your baby lots of opportunities to nurse. Basically, breastfeed anytime they wake up during these first 24-hours at home with your newborn. Babies are going to change your life. They are going to change every day and if you’re flexible you can roll with the changes and enjoy all the moments. Just when you think they have a schedule, they will grow and everything will change again. But, enjoy the journey!

When it comes to babies, so many items are disposable. Think about the number of diapers you will go through, clothing, toys, etc. in just the first few years. This abundance of stuff can wreak havoc on the environment. The truth is, babies grow fast and reach milestone after milestone and their stuff needs to grow with them. Why Hands-On Learning Is Best For Young Children

Disclosure: I voluntarily reviewed the provided product. All opinions are my own. Affiliate link included. I’m sure you’ve heard the term “hands-on-learning” in a conversation about education for children. Children are created to use their senses in learning. Whether a child is developing at a normal pace or if they’re developmentally delayed, sensory learning is the best method. Babies naturally put things in their mouth to investigate objects. Later on, babies/toddlers manipulate objects in their hands. This type of learning is play. Playing is learning. Young children need objects to engage with and people to engage with. They learn by observation, but even more if they are touching the objects. Early childhood education experts know this and focus on these types of learning experiences for children. This can also be referred to as experiential learning. Many preschools and daycare centers have an early childhood education specialist who designs the curriculum plans. When a child is at home, parents are just as equipped to provide hands-on-learning for their child. This is a natural way to help your baby and toddler play and learn. Children love playing with regular household objects, such as pots, pans, and a spoon. They love the loud sounds that they can make banging away. Toddlers love playing in the tub with plastic scoops and buckets. Filling up the scoops and then pouring them out teaches them and it’s fun. Parents have unlimited choices when they want to buy a toy for their child. All toys will teach the child something. Some toys are more educational than others, but they’re all designed to teach something. One of my favorite hands-on toy is a flannel felt board. The Tod City Flannel Story Board is one of the cutest learning toys I’ve seen. Flannel boards have been around for decades. I remember enjoying playing with one of these when I was a young child. It made an impression on me and I loved creating different stories with the little felt objects. This Flannel Felt Story Board is a 25 piece set with a large flannel board. The large background board has 4 grommets for hanging. The animals are very cute and the colors are vibrant. It could be hung anywhere, such as the child’s bedroom, a playroom, or homeschool room.  Interactive visual storytelling toys help to stimulate kids imagination and creativity, develop essential skills through play: communication and vocabulary, social-emotional, and fine motor hand eye coordination. It’s also FUN! @2021, copyright Lisa Ehrman

Show Me The Father Movie Review and Ticket Giveaway

Many thanks to Sony Pictures for providing this product/product information for review. Opinions are 100% my own and NOT influenced by monetary compensation. I did receive a sample of the product in exchange for this review and post. This new family movie is the first documentary produced by the Kendrick Brothers. They are the producers who brought us the films: Fireproof, War Room, and Overcomer. These highly rated films are well-known to Christian audiances. This film teaches us about the way God is our father as well as how our earthly fathers think. What a unique thing to think about in this day when fatherhood is a joke to so many. There are many well-know speakers in this film. It will be fun as well as serious. The sobering reality of fatherhood in 2021 should interest us all. This documentary showcases the stories of five lives. The producers began with 17 stories and had to narrow it down. Each of the people come from different circumstances and backgrounds. There are special segments in the movie about how God is our father. These are from Dr. Tony Evans, who is an internationally-known preacher. This movie is produced by brothers who have their own father story, which helped them to be able to see the great need for such a movie project. Many Christians have seen their other films. The five stories in the movie let us see into the lives of these honest and very open people. The movie is very easy to follow and it has a beautiful and powerful soundtrack. I found the film to be very emotional and heart-warming. Because of how we tend to think of our fathers in a way that relates to how we think about God, we should be learning more about the fatherhood of God. This important film is great for all members of the family. I believe that people who see this will be inspired to start having an intimate relationshiop with God or continue in that relationship. Stories in the movie are shared to help fathers bless their children. The goal is for fathers to get right with God and do right by their families.
