Modern Standing Lamp From Brightech

lamp

Disclosure: Product received in order to review. All opinions are 100% my own. Don’t you love the soft glow of lamps versus the bright overhead lights in your home? With dusk’s appearing, the first thing I do is turn on the lamps around my living room. The softer lighting brings a warmth to evening and helps us all to relax. My new Maxwell LED Brightech Floor Lamp is the most lovely lamp I have. This is the second lamp we’ve reviewed from Brightech and we couldn’t be happier with them both. The first lamp is much bigger and modern, and has held up beautifully (even through our move across the country). This modern lamp we received today is a slim floor lamp with handy decorative shelves. There are three shelves that are useful for small decor items or a few books. The top is a beautiful Asian-style shade which filters the LED bulb, which is included. There is a dainty chain pull chord to turn off the light. It was easy to put together and came with all the necessary parts. The Maxwell works with Alexa and smart home devices, but it needs to be connected to a smart plug to work that way. There are a few versions of the Maxwell: a shorter table lamp, a floor lamp with drawers, and a floor lamp with USB charging ports. This floor lamp is 63 inches high and the square-shape is 10.2 inches. It fits well in small spaces and works well as a night-stand. Using the charging port Maxwell, it would be perfect for charging electronics at night. No matter what room you use it in, the soft warm glow of this lamp will be perfect. My living room is slightly modern/eclectic and the lamp looks amazing in the corner. This contemporary lamp would also look terrific in mid-century, modern, farmhouse, and country rooms. So, if you make changes to your style you’ll be glad to know that this lamp will work. The wood floor lamp comes in a variety of colors and tones. The lamp comes in a classic black color as well as these shades of brown: Havanah Brown, Walnut Brown, and Natural Wood. So, you can find the color that works best with your existing furniture. I believe that you’ll enjoy any of the Brightech lighting products and especially the Maxwell Floor Lamp. They offer a 5-year guarantee on their products and free shipping over $50. We’ll definitely look to Brightech to save money with the LED lamps. Our lamps are going to be enjoyed for a long time in my home. @2020, copyright Lisa Ehrman

soap

Are you a frugal person who also loves to buy green products? I’m a frugal grandmom with tons of allergies and I love to get green and natural products. These help prevent rashes, headaches, and sinus problems. We also recycle everything that we can in our community. Because I shop online so often, we always have lots of cardboard to recycle. But, the company where I purchase my home and cleaning supplies helps me to recycle, too. I’ve joined the Grove Collaborative for the last four months and I love it! I’m able to enjoy the best products available and they come straight to my door. I joined on a trial basis (60-day free trial period), because you never know if things will be a good fit for you. In my first order I received $35 in free cleaning products and some freebies, too! I love everything that I’ve received. I’m a VIP, and that means that I get free shipping on all of my shipments. There is a once a year charge of $19. This not only gets me free shipping, but also free products based on what I purchase. The Grove team will fill out the order for you, but you can edit the cart and put your favorites in there. I usually don’t buy too many things in my order, but have had so much fun trying a new item each month. I’m totally in love with all the Mrs. Meyer’s scents, because they are made naturally. The essential oil scents are mild and don’t give me a headache or rash. Two of my favorite household items are Dishwashing packs from Seventh Generation and the Grove Washer packs for my laundry. There are also wonderful recyclable concentrates for cleaning. These cut back on packing, orders, and they’re recyclable. Grove will send you a postage-paid bag to ship back your tubes and concentrate bags. You can also get your Grove products for FREE! Preparing To Give Thanks

Give Thanks

Are you counting down the days to Thanksgiving, knowing that you will have a house filled with guests? If you are already a very organized person, this thought won’t make you nervous. But, if you’re like the rest of us, your heart may start racing with anxiety. The good news is that there is still plenty of time to get your home ready for a perfectly wonderful day of giving thanks. Remember, when there is something to celebrate, it’s all about the people that you are with. It’s not necessary to impress everyone. Getting organized is what is needed in order to be ready, less-stressed, and really enjoy the holiday. It won’t feel like Thanksgiving if you’re just barely surviving. You want to make memories that are peaceful and fun. Here are some great tips to help you get organized and ready to give thanks: Plan Make a Master List of all the things you want to accomplish before the big day. Then, break it down into what needs to be done each week before Thanksgiving. The weekly list can now easily be broken down into daily tasks. Meals should also be planned. Your everyday meals still need to be cooked, so use a Meal Planner to stay organized and have everything you need to cook. Declutter Do you wonder how you’ll be able to let guests use your bathrooms? Are they a mess? It’s great to throw out any empty containers or slivers of soap. Kid’s toy shelves and closets need a good weeding. This is a perfect time to let children give away a few toys that they don’t use. De-clutter the kitchen pantry and refrigerator. Child-proof your home, if there are little ones coming to visit. Organize Now that you’ve de-cluttered, you may still have a mess. Do you need places to store things that you’re keeping? This is a good time to buy some baskets or containers to artfully store things. The kitchen pantry could use a good tidying up. Put like things together. This prevents you from buying too much food that you already have. After you get the pantry organized you’ll have more room for holiday recipe ingredients. Organize bathroom and linen closets. Make sure that there are plenty of towels handy and lots of extra toilet paper. That’s not something you want to run out of with extra people in the house. Organize the coat closet so that you have room for your guests coats. Around the holidays, there are lots of extra activities for your children. Do you have a type of “command center” in your home? Have a place to file all the papers that come into your home. Set up a calendar and place to coordinate everyone’s schedule. Don’t let events slip up on you because you weren’t organized. Keep a list-maker handy and write down things as you think of them. Make sure you keep plenty of batteries. The tv remote always dies when you least expect it. Cleaning Clean out the refrigerator to make room for all the holiday dishes. Clean each room from top to bottom, dusting first. Vacuum, mop, and scrub anything that needs it. When your home is really clean it makes more of a difference than spending money on new things. And, of course, this isn’t a good time to start any major home improvements or renovations. Delegate! Have your children work with a chore chart to help you with some of the cleaning. A good way to clean is to set the buzzer for 15 minutes and clean like crazy. Then, just do this daily until everything’s ready. Shop Plan the Big Meal and create your grocery list. The week of Thanksgiving is a great time to buy some foods on your list. Most stores offer big discounts. Purchase any decorating items or a centerpiece at the last minute. Cook Cook some dishes ahead of time, especially casseroles Make a cooking schedule, so you’ll put things in the oven in the right order. I write down the time we plan to eat and then work backwards, cooking dishes in a certain order based on the cooking temperature. In this way, we always eat on time. Get helpers. Your guests will usually volunteer to help chop, mash, and stir. Say yes to the offer and smile. Enjoy and Give Thanks! It’s such a blessing to have family or friends to celebrate a day like Thanksgiving. Give praise to God for all the good things in your life. @2019, copyright Lisa Ehrman
